Early Winter Update from The Greengrocer

Winter is well and truly here now. 

Everyone is buying Mandarins, Kiwifruit, Apples and Pears all at reasonable prices. What is likely to be the last of the summer berries and Feijoas are still available for now, make the most of this while you still can! 

In the Green Vegetable section, Broccoli is top of the list as usual along with Cauliflower, Celery, Leeks, Green Cabbages and Silverbeet. All extremely good buying at the moment, being four dollars or less this week. Australian Green Beans and Courgettes are arriving in the coming days, just in time for the local crops to finish up.

Potatoes, Pumpkin, Kumara, Onions and Carrots are all very cheap for this time of year, perfect for roast dinners or some soups to warm you up!

As for the salad vegetables, the cold weather is very much reflected in their prices and availability. The Avocado season is swiftly coming to a close, and prices are moving up. No surprises but so are the Tomatoes. Make the most of the Capsicums being cheap this week, because it will not last much longer.
