Choy Sum

Selection

Choose choy sum with bright green leaves, firm stems, and fresh yellow flowers if present. Avoid bunches with wilted leaves, yellowing stems, or signs of softness.

Preparation

Rinse thoroughly and trim the ends of the stems if needed. Choy sum can be cooked whole or chopped into smaller pieces. It’s delicious steamed, stir-fried with garlic and ginger, blanched, or added to soups and noodle dishes.

Good for You

Choy sum is naturally low in calories and packed with vitamins A, C, and K, along with folate and fibre. It’s a nutritious leafy green that supports immune health, healthy bones, and overall wellbeing.

And Tastes So Good

Choy sum has tender stems and soft leaves with a mild, slightly sweet flavour and a hint of mustard. It cooks quickly and pairs beautifully with garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and your favourite Asian-inspired dishes.
