Cabbage – Whole

Selection: Look for a solid head, round or oval with well compacted smooth leaves.

Preparation: Remove any wilted or discoloured outer leaves. Cut the cabbage head lengthwise into halves then quarters and remove the core. It can now be shredded or cut for use as desired.

Good For You: An excellent source or Vitamin C and dietary fibre.

And Tastes So Good: Steam, saute or eat raw as a slaw or salad. Lovely in stir fries. For an interesting twist add chopped dried fruit or toasted nuts to your slaw salad, or pair with an asian dressing.

Storage: Store in an airtight plastic bag in the fridge.
